Leeds United were prepared to pay £2.65m to Feyenoord for Arne Slot
Leeds United were reportedly prepared to pay £2.65million to Feyenoord for Arne Slot but they had no intentions of letting him go.
According to the Telegraaf on 13 February, the Rotterdam outfit were prepared to let go of that amount in order to retain the services of the Dutchman.
Leeds are continuing their search to find Jesse Marsch’s successor with a makeshift staff being in charge of the two games against Manchester United.

Summer approach?
Leeds may continue with their efforts to appoint Slot in the summer as he’s understood to be a priority for them.
They would’ve loved to have appointed him right away but he’s doing too well at Feyenoord to abandon ship in the middle of the season.
The Dutch side have a realistic chance of securing the league title and that’s not something that happens too often there.
Apart from that, they’re also competing on other fronts so it makes a lot of sense to be there this season and then analyse his future over the summer.

Hopefully, they sort out an interim appointment quickly and ensure that he can be a quick fix and sort out some of the defensive issues in this side.
He’s also going to have to get the likes of Patrick Bamford and Georginio Rutter firing again as Leeds have been creative but are lacking that end product.
