Leeds United warned as promotion aspirations questioned ahead of Hull City clash
Leeds United can’t take Hull City lightly in the Championship on Saturday, according to David Prutton.
The Sky Sports host believes Ruben Selles’ arrival has been a boost for the Tigers as they take on the Whites on 4 January.
If Daniel Farke’s team have any promotion aspirations, he says they should get three points at the MKM Stadium with a 2-1 victory.
Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post (4 January), Prutton said: “It’s a game that Leeds can’t take lightly at all with Hull having a bit more fight about them in recent weeks, so it’s an intriguing one, I think, to see where both teams are at.
“Obviously, there is a bit of an affiliation with my home city and a team that I thoroughly loved playing for, so it’s always a decent game to keep an eye out on.
“But if Leeds have any aspirations of being in at least the top two, then they ‘should’ come through with full points, and I’d say Leeds to win 2-1.”
Leeds United need emphatic win v Hull City
The Peacocks are three points above Burnley at the top of the table after the 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rover on New Year’s Day.
Farke has managed to keep the West Yorkshire club in and around the automatic promotion places despite the fitness issues in the squad.
The likes of Ethan Ampadu have now returned to action to boost the Whites’ promotion hopes in the second half of the season.
Leeds United will be expected to get the better of Hull and cement their place in first place in the Championship table.

Although the Tigers have won just two of their last 17 league fixtures, Selles has managed to bring some stability to the MKM Stadium.
The West Yorkshire club have some relatively easier fixtures coming up before taking on Burnley on 27 January.
While the Whites are leading, they can’t take their foot off the gas and must ensure they get into the Premier League.
In the previous campaign, Farke came close but was unable to get over the line after losing the play-offs final to Southampton.
