Leeds United want two more signings, George Hall 'prime target' in Elland Road transfer blitz

Leeds United are looking to add two more youngsters to their squad this month, including Birmingham City midfielder George Hall, according to the Mail on Sunday.

The Whites have been busy in the market this month, completing the signings of Maximilian Wober [LUFC, 3 January] from Red Bull Salzburg, and announcing the completed [14 January] club-record deal for TSG Hoffenheim striker Georginio Rutter in the region of £36million.

Jesse Marsch is undergoing a club refresh at Elland Road, recruiting young and vibrant players to build a bright future for the Whites, despite their precarious position in the Premier League currently, and that recruitment model could well continue in the coming weeks.

According to the Daily Mail [15 January], the Whites are looking to add two younger players to their squad with Birmingham’s first-team midfielder Hall a top target for the remainder of the window.

Exciting

So far this campaign, Hall has established himself in the Birmingham City first team, featuring in 18 Sky Bet Championship games, registering a goal and an assist, already at just 18 years old.

Renowned as one of the Championship’s top talents through his emergence this season, it is no surprise Premier League clubs are circling and Leeds United could represent an exciting and ideal next step for him.

However, if he moves this month, there is no guarantee he’d be playing, but rather playing in the club’s youth setup which could well stunt his growth. The midfielder is excelling in the Championship so why take him away from that?

It would be ideal for all parties if Leeds secure his services this month but loan him back out to St Andrew’s for him to continue his rapid and stunning development.

What is clear though, is that the Whites are building for the future, as evidenced by the signings Marsch has made so far during his tenure. Recruiting more talented young stars can only improve the club’s status as one of the most attractive and progressive clubs in the country.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are now seeking their third signing of the month with a European contract rebel in their sights.
