Leeds United want to sign Rangers sensation Rory Wilson

Leeds United are one of the Premier League clubs showing keen interest in Rangers young talent Rory Wilson, according to the Daily Star.

The newspaper reports Rangers are looking to offer him a professional contract but the 16-year-old is set to reject it.

The Whites are likely to face strong competition from the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Newcastle United.

The youngster has scored an “astonishing” 40 goals this season, and he has been described as a Scottish “sensation”.

Good chance

Premier League scouts, mainly from United and City have watched the youngster this week, and there is a temptation to sign him.

The report suggests that any potential club will have to pay around £300,000 in compensation, which shouldn’t be a big problem for Leeds.

The youngster wants to make a strong career in England, and it seems he is not keen to continue at Rangers.

It all depends on how serious Leeds are to sign him, as heavyweight clubs are also in the mix.

Leeds will have to pitch themselves properly. The Whites have a strong history of promoting young talents to the senior squad, and this can appeal to young Wilson.

While offers from the Manchester clubs or Liverpool can turn his head around, he must understand that none of these clubs are going to give him chances in the first team in the next few years.

The chances of making the senior grade with the Whites are more, but such talks are premature at the moment.

In other Leeds United news, this £16.6million player has less than two months left to save his career at Elland Road.
