Leeds United want to sign Morgan Gibbs-White

Leeds United are in the race to sign Wolves attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, according to a report from The Athletic.

The Whites are likely to face strong competition from Southampton, while Premier League newcomer Nottingham Forest are also keen to secure his signature.

Wolves value the 22-year-old attacker at around £20 million.

It’s an open secret that Leeds are looking to bolster their midfield this summer.

Kalvin Phillips could stay put for another season, but he needs quality players around him.

Morgan-Gibbs was superb last season on loan at Sheffield United, where he scored 12 goals and registered 10 assists as well.

He was named their player of the year for the 2021-22 campaign. Wolves have offered a new contract [The Atheltic], but the player is unsure whether to accept it. He needs convincing whether returning to Wolves would be the right move for his career.

Leeds narrowly prevented relegation on the final day of the season, and they will be looking to turn it around under Jesse Marsch this term.

The club already have secured the signing of Brenden Aaronson, who will join next month, but more quality additions are required. Gibbs-White was spectacular last season, and he has the quality to shine in the top flight as well.

The Whites have other midfield targets as well like Lewis O’Brien [TeamTalk], but White-Gibbs is worth taking a gamble.

In other Leeds United news, this player is considering his options at Elland Road despite only signing last year.
