Leeds want to sign Matheus Cunha after months scouting, three other clubs interested – Bielefeld

Leeds United want to sign Hertha Berlin playmaker Matheus Cunha in the upcoming summer, according to Max Bielefeld.

The Sky Sports journalist has shared that the Germans will sell the attacker this summer, but only for the right price of £25.8million.

Monaco, Napoli and Atalanta have all supposedly registered their interest, with European football to offer the South American.

Writing on his personal Twitter account this afternoon, Bielefeld shared the competition facing the Whites in the summer.

“Sky sources: Matheus Cunha could leave Hertha Berlin in the summer,” he wrote.

“Leeds is following the player closely for months already. There is also interest from France (Monaco) and Italy (Napoli, Atalanta). Hertha would sell for the right price (30m€).”

Huge.

Cunha is one of the biggest Brazilian sensations in the entirety of Europe.

The attacker has scored an incredible 15 goals in 16 games for the Brazilian Under-23s, as he continues to make the rise through the ranks.

How does that compare to his performance in the Bundesliga?

The 21-year-old has scored eight goals and added four assists in his 28 appearances in all competitions, as he continues to show promise after RB Leipzig.

Cunha was nominated for the Puskas Award in 2019 after this outrageous goal, and it offered just a glimpse of what he can offer.

We need a third attacker to rival Rodrigo and Patrick Bamford next season, although a midfield and left-back are arguably needed more.

Cunha is looking like an outrageous talent, and for £25.8million, we could be stupid not to take that gamble this summer.
