Leeds United want to sign George Hall from Birmingham City
Leeds United want to sign Birmingham City’s 17-year-old midfielder George Hall, according to a new report.
The Daily Mail report that the Whites, Newcastle United, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Southampton want to add the England Under-18s international to one of their youth squads.
However, Lee Bowyer’s side are preparing to offer a new deal to Hall and plan to resist most bids for the Redditch-born midfielder.
The player is yet to make his first-team debut for Birmingham, but the club are confident that they can keep him and fight off interest from other clubs.
Leeds look to add even more youth talent.
The Whites have built impressive youth squads at various levels throughout their club, and they have had a reputation for hoovering up the best around.
Therefore, if the Whites are keen on Hall, you would think that he is someone that could be another fantastic addition to the Leeds academy.
However, it appears as if the Whites are going to face some competition for Hall’s signature, and even if they beat the competition to him, the Blues might decide to keep the teenager.
So, this could be a transfer to keep an eye on as the January transfer window opens.
Hall looks like a superb prospect, and given the Whites’ reputation for buying youth talent, you wouldn’t put it past them to be all over this deal and beat the competition.
Victor Orta is very good at these deals, so it will be fascinating to see what happens.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are planning a move for a Championship star in January.
