Leeds United want to sign Barcelona sensation Ferran Jutgla - report

Leeds United want to sign Barcelona sensation Ferran Jutgla in the January window, according to El Nacional.

The Catalan outlet has reported on their website that the Whites are willing to splash out £8.3million for the signing.

Jutgla only arrived at the Camp Nou in the summer and has made a quick progression to the first team after starting in the reserves.

Xavi is said to have been impressed with the young attacker since his promotion, but that may not be enough for him to stay there.

Jutgla is said to be happy if asked to return to the reserves once the likes of Memphis Depay return from injury.

Despite that, the 22-year-old is also said to be happy with a move to the Premier League if it is brought to the table.

Cat out of the hat.

Well, this appears to have come out of nowhere.

Leeds made their move for Junior Firpo in the summer from Barcelona, and it looks as though they could do the same to the Spanish giants again.

Jutgla appears to be happy at the Nou Camp, but a possible demotion to the reserves could spring Victor Orta and the Whites into action.

The 22-year-old was unexpectedly handed a call into the first team by Xavi this season, and he has responded in fine fashion – scoring in La Liga as well as the Copa Del Rey.

Barcelona now face the prospect of losing one of their brightest prospects after only calling him up through necessity, and Leeds could prosper.

The Premier League is a huge calling ground, and it looks as though Jutgla has one eye set on England, something Leeds must use to their advantage.

This is really one to watch.
