Leeds United want to sign Arsenal attacker Nicolas Pepe

Leeds United are reportedly weighing up a move for Arsenal attacker Nicolas Pepe this summer who’s understood to be keen on a move.

According to Spanish media outlet Diario Sevilla, his price would exceed £21.5million if any club is keen on signing him.

The Frenchman changed his agent in May 2022 with a view to getting him a move away from the Emirates Stadium.

Marseille, Lyon and Sevilla are the other clubs linked with a move to sign the out of favour Gunners man.

Avoid at all costs

Signing a wide man was crucial with Raphinha leaving for Barcelona and they did that when they brought in Luis Sinisterra.

Paying big money for another wide player when Jack Harrison is arguably the best winger at the club, makes very little sense.

Leeds need someone to play as an out and out striker – something Pepe cannot do if his life depended on it.

In three years of playing for a team like Arsenal, he’s only got a combined league total of 25 goals and assists which is quite dismal when you think of it.

If Leeds have that kind of money, it should be going towards a striker or a left-back.

Both Patrick Bamford and Junior Firpo have faced tremendous fitness issues in the past and cannot be relied on to be fit for the entirety of the season.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that a midfielder who was admired by Marcelo Bielsa is set to leave this summer.
