Leeds United are looking to seal a £4million plus bonuses deal to sign FC Zurich striker Willy Gnonto this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper has reported on its website that the Swiss club truly value the Italian international at £17million, but his contract has now entered its final year.

With that in mind, that valuation is dropping and Leeds are looking to take advantage with contact now starting between the two clubs over a deadline-busting move.

Despite reports elsewhere, it is said that Jesse Marsch is keen to bolster his squad in the final two days of the window at Elland Road.

Although it may seem like a lowball offer, it is said that Zurich are ready to let Gnonto go for that price to save themselves from getting nothing in the end.

After breaking through into the Italian national side under Roberto Mancini, the young striker is ready to test himself at a higher level, with the Premier League now calling.

Get it done, now.

Marsch should be banging on the doors of Victor Orta and Andrea Radrizzani to get another striker in.

Patrick Bamford has confirmed that he will miss the game against Chelsea on Sunday afternoon at Elland Road, with a groin issue now keeping him out of action.

The number nine is simply too prone to problems now to rely on him for a full 38-game season, and Joe Gelhardt can’t do it all by himself in the final third.

Gnonto isn’t the experienced, proven head we were probably all hoping for, but he would do a job and would arrive a full Italy international after shining under Roberto Mancini.

To get a £17million player for under £5million initially would be superb business, and he would add serious depth in the final third that we have been lacking for months.

We can’t wait any longer, this one needs to be done.
