Leeds United want Lisandru Olmeta transfer as contract decision coming in days
Leeds United are watching the situation of AS Monaco goalkeeper Lisandru Olmeta with a decision on his future around the corner, according to Foot Mercato.
The French outlet has reported on its website that clubs around Europe are knocking on the door as the 17-year-old reviews a first professional contract offer.
Olmeta is said to be at a crossroads with the likes of Leeds queuing up, as he gets set to make a decision on his future in the coming days.
Manchester City are another club said to be watching closely, with a free transfer on the cards for June 30 should he decide to move on to another team.
Olmeta appears as though he will be left to make up his mind though, with his agent and family not set to interfere as a massive decision gets closer.
Stade Rennais and City are said to be close to taking action though, so Leeds will need to make their move soon if they want to be successful with another young goalkeeper.
Bargain.
Victor Orta is always looking for the next up-and-coming young star from across Europe.
The likes of Illan Meslier have been sensational, and another young Frenchman could be set to join him in the goalkeeping ranks of Thorp Arch in 2023.
Olmeta clearly has a huge future ahead of him with the clubs that are following him, but Leeds have a past of managing to get deals over the line for the best.
Joel Robles, Kristoffer Klaesson and Dani van den Heuvel are three options behind Meslier at this moment, but they could be set for even more competition very soon.
Robles isn’t getting any younger though, and once his deal expires at Elland Road, there may be hope that the likes of Klaesson are old enough to be a number two consistently.
With Max Wober already signed and Georginio Rutter also very close to arriving, Leeds may not stop there with names popping up everywhere – all eyes on Elland Road.
