Leeds United: Adam Pope shares what made Daniel Farke ‘really annoyed’ in Rotherham United win

Adam Pope has shared details on what made Daniel Farke “really annoyed” as Leeds United saw off Rotherham United 3-0.

The Whites eased to another victory at Elland Road on Saturday (10 February), albeit with its controversial moments, to stay within one point of second-place Southampton.

However, the margin of victory would have been much larger if automatic promotion-chasing Leeds had been more prolific in front of goal against their Yorkshire rivals.

Speaking on BBC Sport’s Don’t Go To Bed Just Yet podcast [12 February, 06m 31s], journalist Pope said: “I was watching Farke a lot and he was getting so frustrated with the chances being missed.

“He was getting really, really annoyed by those chances going abegging.”

Leeds made light work of Rotherham thanks to an early goal from Patrick Bamford and then a double from Crysencio Summerville.

The Whites registered 19 shots across the 90 minutes, six of which were on target and half of those ended up in the back of the net.

As per Opta, Leeds registered an expected goals (xG) return of 2.84 compared to Rotherham’s 0.30.

That basically means Leeds scored as many goals as expected based on the quality of the chances created.

However, Farke reacted quite angrily to a Bamford chance that looked far from easy.

As it is, Leeds got the job done in a stress-free manner thanks to the three goals and – just as importantly – a third successive clean sheet in the league.

Demanding more from his players is by no means a bad thing, though, and there will be other games this season where Leeds will not have the luxury of letting opportunities pass them by.
