Neil Redfearn blown away live on talkSPORT by what he saw in Leeds United win vs Ipswich Town as footage emerges

Neil Redfearn hailed “two absolute bits of magic” from Leeds United players in the build-up to their second goal in the win over Ipswich Town.

Georginio Rutter held the ball up and played in Crysencio Summerville, whose cross into the six-yard box was put into his own net by Leif Davis.

That put the Whites well on their way to a straightforward victory at Elland Road in Saturday’s (23 December) Championship showdown.

The goal was shared by Sky Sports Football on their official Twitter account shortly afterwards [23 December].

Speaking on talkSPORT’s live coverage [23 December, 12:50pm], Redfearn said: “There’s two absolute bits of magic from Leeds players.

“Georginio Rutter to begin with. The ball comes into him and he pins his marker, before twisting and turning.

“It’s then a great ball out to Summerville, who has the legs to beat his opponent into the box.

“It’s a great ball into the six-yard box, and Leif is unfortunate to put it into his own net. But that’s nothing short of what Leeds deserve.”

Dominant

While this may have been an own goal, you cannot take anything away from the build-up play from Leeds.

Rutter has made a habit of being a menace to opposition defences this season, as was the case here.

Summerville has far more of an end product, albeit he will not be credited with the assist for this delightful delivery.

The Dutchman did get on the scoresheet from the penalty spot prior to half-time, though, while Pascal Struijk was also on target in the first half.

It was as dominant a display from a team you will see in a half of football in the Championship this season, putting United on course for a routine win.

After a recent blip of form, the likes of Summerville, Rutter, Daniel James and Joel Piroe are back to showing why they are so feared.

Long may it continue, as Daniel Farke will need each of his attackers clicking between now and the end of the season in order to catch Ipswich.

In other Leeds United news, a BBC Sport pundit said something he saw from a Whites player against Ipswich Town “was not normal”.
