Leeds United: David Prutton predicts result of game vs Blackburn Rovers for Sky Sports

David Prutton has predicted Leeds United will return to winning ways in the Championship when they host Blackburn Rovers this weekend.

The Whites have lost 2-1 away at Coventry City and drawn 0-0 at home to Sunderland in their past two league games.

However, the visit of a Blackburn side battered 5-0 away to Bristol City presents a good opportunity to get a first win in three on the board.

Providing his prediction for Sky Sports [11 April, 6m 35s], Prutton said: “We’ve seen Leeds draw and lose in their last two games, so that brings things into sharp focus.

“They’re up against a Blackburn side that’s wildly inconsistent. These last couple of games have gone to show that there is still some jeopardy left. I’ll go 3-1 to Leeds.”

Leeds vs Blackburn Rovers head-to-head record

The Whites have won seven of their past eight league meetings with Blackburn, scoring at least two goals in each of those victories.

Rovers have lost three in a row at Elland Road, following a previous run of three successive-such wins between January 2014 and October 2015.

After seeing the remarkable unbeaten start to 2024 come to an end at Coventry, Leeds could not respond at home to mid-table Sunderland.

The performance was not great, but the display of the referee was even worse and cost United maximum points on home soil.

As we have seen in those past two games, no team in the Championship can be written off, even not Blackburn Rovers.

While they were on the end of a heavy loss at Ashton Gate, they were 5-1 winners at Sunderland in their most recent away game before that.

Nothing sums up this league quite like that. If Daniel Farke was offered a 1-0 victory right now, he would no doubt take it.

In other Leeds United news, Andy Hinchcliffe was amazed by a “ridiculous” moment in the draw with Sunderland.
