Leeds United: Victor Orta reacts in Goodison Park tunnel after loss v Everton
Victor Orta looked befuddled as he headed down the Goodison Park tunnel following the Leeds United loss to Everton on 18 February, according to the Daily Mail.
The report claims that Orta has pursued more false leads than “Inspector Clouseau” over the last few weeks since Jesse Marsch’s sacking from the club.
Orta was booed and jeered by the Leeds United support throughout the Everton game as unrest grows amongst the Elland Road faithful.

“The fury came billowing out as the game careered towards its inevitable conclusion. As another attack broke down, with their team trailing, Leeds fans took aim at the directors’ box,” as quoted by the Daily Mail. (19 February)
“‘Orta! It’s time to go,’ they hollered, repeating it for added emphasis. ‘Orta, Orta! It’s time to go.’ Down in Goodison Park’s tunnel, after another defeat, the man central to those chants looked befuddled. Victor Orta, director of football at Elland Road, is no closer to appointing a permanent manager and the longer he dithers, the more likely it is that Leeds will be relegated.
“It is two weeks since Jesse Marsch was sacked, and in that time Orta has pursued more false leads than Inspector Clouseau, chief among them being the idea that he would be able to free Feyenoord’s Arne Slot from a watertight contract in the Netherlands.”

World of trouble.
Leeds United are in a world of trouble right now, with a new manager being nowhere nearer to being signed and sealed and performances on the pitch nowhere near good enough to stay up.
The Everton clash was a massive wake-up call for the team and hopefully, this will kick them into action to start fighting for their Premier League survival.
Orta, Andrea Radrizanni and co haven’t covered themselves in glory during this manager hunt and now the fans have turned on them for answers.
Something which is completely fair enough, in the modern game it’s bizarre how a new and improved head coach can’t be signed within two weeks.
Michael Skubala clearly isn’t the solution to the Whites problems either, although, the caretaker manager can’t take much if any blame after being thrust into the role unwillingly.
Where does Leeds United go from here? That guess is as good as anyone’s right now, however, things at Elland Road are looking very bleak indeed.
