Leeds United very impressed with Todd Boehly, they want to sell Raphinha to Chelsea

Leeds United have been left very impressed by Chelsea owner Todd Boehly in negotiations over Raphinha, according to Ben Jacobs.

The CBS reporter has shared that the Whites would rather sell to their Premier League rivals over Barcelona, with the Spanish club continuing to drag their feet over payments.

Rpahinha returned to Leeds training on Thursday [07 July], and it is said that “key days” are now ahead with his future certainly away from Elland Road.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Jacobs shared the latest from behind-the-scenes with things progressing quickly in the past 24 hours.

“Leeds would prefer to sell to Chelsea and have been very impressed by Boehly in negotiations,” he wrote.

“Barcelona still hoping Leeds soften and Raphinha waits. Key few days ahead.”

It’s coming.

Finally, it looks as though this saga is set to end very soon.

Selling to Chelsea would guarantee Leeds a higher upfront payment and probably a higher price overall given the financial struggles of Barcelona which have been publically known for months now.

Boehly is worth billions and paid over £4billion to purchase Chelsea, so those are funds that make this deal more appealing to Leeds as they would be guaranteed cash.

Barcelona are going to try and pay in different instalments across many years, and that is something Leeds must turn their back on with guaranteed cash on the table from another party.

Boehly has been doing all of his negotiations in person and fronting them, with that personal touch something that has gone down well with the Whites, as they weren’t messed around.

That doesn’t guarantee a move to Stamford Bridge will happen, but it is certainly one to watch in the coming days before the squad jets out to Australia.
