Leeds United v Preston North End result predicted by supercomputer

Leeds United are preparing to welcome Preston North End in the Championship on Saturday.

Paul Heckingbottom’s side are set to travel to West Yorkshire for a clash against the Whites at Elland Road on 12 April.

This will be a chance for Daniel Farke to secure yet another important three points in the second tier just days after a 1-0 win against Middlesbrough.

There is no guarantee of anything against the Deepdale club, who will be keen to end the season in the best possible fashion as a supercomputer predicts the result in LS11.

Leeds United backed to win v Preston North End

There is a high expectation of promotion to the Premier League at Elland Road, especially after the mid-week win against Boro.

A Dan James goal proved to be the difference at the Riverside, and Farke will be hoping for a similar sort of result as his side returns home.

Preston will also turn up in Yorkshire with the hopes of securing three points despite not doing so in their last three Championship fixtures, last winning in mid-March.

It is safe to say that the Opta Analyst supercomputer (9 April) doesn’t see them changing their winless streak anytime soon.

Leeds have been handed a 66.7 per cent chance of winning at home against Heckingbottom’s side and taking a step towards promotion.

By comparison, Preston have been afforded a chance of just 15.1 per cent to secure an unlikely three points against the league leaders.

This leaves the Lilywhites with a lower chance of winning than a draw according to the supercomputer, which has predicted an 18.2 per cent chance of the points being shared.

Leeds United must secure win v Preston

It cannot be understated how close Leeds are to earning promotion from the Championship as it stands.

The Whites sit at the top of the league and are just five games away from the season coming to an end after a long campaign in the second tier.

Farke’s side are top of the tree ahead of Burnley and Sheffield United right now and they will be keen on keeping it that way moving forward.

The win against Middlesbrough, despite two goals being wrongly ruled out, has gone some way to doing exactly that.

That will only be handed a boost in the coming days if Leeds can secure a huge win against Preston at Elland Road.
