Leeds United v Millwall: Several players could miss game at Elland Road for unique reason

Adam Pope says “several players” are potentially at risk of missing the Leeds United versus Millwall match due to their partners expecting babies.

The BBC journalist shared the update via his personal X account [15 March] after attending Daniel Farke’s pre-match press conference.

Leeds have a two-week gap between games following the showdown with Millwall at Elland Road, so the timing could turn out to be perfect.

“Several players’ partners are expecting babies this/next week. Hopefully everyone is available,” Pope tweeted.

Farke confirmed at his presser that Pascal Struijk has had a setback and could now miss the rest of the season in a big blow.

Jamie Shackleton and Jaidon Anthony are both available to face Millwall, however, so there are now more options to call upon.

Exactly which players are at risk of missing the showdown with fierce rivals Millwall is not known.

If the partners in question could hold off until Sunday evening, that would be great for everyone involved!

The Leeds squad has been pushed to its limits, but they are showing no signs of letting up in this push for a top-two finish.

If they can beat Millwall by a couple of goals, it will mean heading into the international break at the very top of the Championship.

Manage that and it will be double cause for celebration for many of Leeds’ players over the next week or so.
