Leeds United v Hull City: Ilia Gruev update emerges from Elland Road

Leeds United midfielder Ilia Gruev has not been spotted with the team to take on Hull City in the Championship on 1 April.

The Bulgarian was a doubt for the clash but his absence all but confirms he will not be available for the game.

Yorkshire Evening Post’s Graham Smyth has taken to Twitter to share this development.

He wrote: “No sign of Gruev with the squad.”

Big blow for Leeds United

Not having Gruev in the squad is a significant blow for Daniel Farke and Leeds United.

He has been a first-team regular this season and in his absence, it remains to be seen who fills in the void.

It’s undoubtedly going to affect Farke’s plans and hopefully he’s done something about it in the build-up to the game.

Leeds have to win with Leicester picking up three points and the target now is to finish first.

Getting promoted with a league title will be incredibly sweet and that’s what fans and everyone associated with the club will want.

Elland Road will certainly be playing its role and it’s going to be an incredible atmosphere on Monday.

In other Leeds United news, the club have now made moves in order to secure their first permanent transfer of the summer.
