Michael Owen predicts the result of Leeds clash v Brentford
Leeds United will face Brentford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon at Elland Road.
Ahead of the match, Michael Owen has predicted a 1-1 draw between the two sides.
The well-known pundit was left impressed by Leeds’ energy levels against Crystal Palace in their last game.
Owen also feels that Brentford did extremely well against Everton and that he finds the two sides are on the same level.
“What a dramatic win that was for Leeds against Palace on Tuesday. Palace did have chances, but I thought Leeds’ energy levels were superb and Raphinha took his penalty superbly,” wrote Owen for BetVictor.
“Brentford didn’t play badly against Spurs on Thursday, but they didn’t really lay a glove on them. Last weekend’s win over Everton was vital though and keeps them in a decent position.
“One point separates these two in the league and I don’t see much between these two on current form. I’m going for 1-1 here.”
Winning momentum
Brentford are heading into this game on the back of a 2-0 defeat against Tottenham.
They have won just once in their last seven games.
However, they have picked up two wins and three draws already this season, and are capable of getting something from this game.
Leeds must ensure they pick up maximum points at Elland Road and maintain the winning momentum.
The energy level was top-draw against Palace, and Marcelo Bielsa will demand another similar effort on Sunday.
Patrick Bamford and Luke Ayling have both returned from injuries and it’s a massive boost for the Yorkshire club.
With Raphinha firing all cylinders, and Bielsa now having almost a fully fit squad at his disposal, anything less than three points will be a huge disappointment.
The Whites are 15th in the table at the moment, but a series of good results could see them quickly climb up the table.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites want to sign this ‘Special’ 22y/o Argentine who is perfect for Bielsa and can play at left-back.
