Leeds United urged to hand Adam Forshaw contract extension by Sky Sports pundit
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson has urged Leeds United to offer Adam Forshaw a new contract with the Englishman set to learn his fate at Elland Road.
Leeds Live reporter Beren Cross has revealed (4 June) that the 31-year-old is set to learn his fate this week when the retained list is released.
Robinson believes leaders are essential heading into the new Championship season and feels offering Forshaw a new deal is a “no-brainer”.
“Ayling, Cooper and Forshaw have huge experience and they have a real part to play next season,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“I am not sure what the situation with Adam Forshaw’s contract is – whether that’s going to be extended or not.

“I think in the Championship, it’s a no-brainer. The Championship is very different to the Premier League and these players have done it before.
“Ayling and Cooper are two very experienced players and quality defenders. They’ve got leadership quality in there as well. In the Championship, those three players are who you build a squad around.”
Forshaw returned to Leeds’ squad during the latter stages of the 2022/23 season. He made 12 Premier League appearances last season, although seven of them came in the last eight matches of the campaign.
In other Leeds news, the Whites have been scouting a Championship striker as a cut-price transfer emerges.
