Leeds United unlikely to move for Adama Traore – Journalist

Beren Cross has suggested that he doesn’t see Leeds United making a move for Adama Traore in January.

In a Q&A session for Leeds Live, Cross has suggested that the Whites are choc-a-bloc with wingers at the club, and as such, they don’t need to stockpile in that area.

According to reports from The Telegraph, Wolves could be looking to cash in on him for a fee of around £20 million.

Cross replied when asked about a potential move for Traore: “I can’t see Adama Traore being one Leeds would like at.

“As you say, they have more than enough wingers in the club right now and it’s one of the areas which doesn’t need attention. £20m is still a hefty fee too.”

Spot on

Traore was linked with a move to Leeds during the summer transfer window.

Transfer expert, Duncan Castles, claimed on Transfer Window Podcast during the summer that the Whites had stolen march on their rivals for the Spaniard’s signature.

He claimed that Marcelo Bielsa’s side had launched a £30m offer, with Leeds desperate to bring him to Elland Road.

The deal didn’t happen in the end. However, Traore could leave now, and several clubs, including West Ham are vying for his signature.

Leeds do have enough quality in their wing position, with Marcelo Bielsa bolstering that area during the summer by landing Dan James from Manchester United.

Right now, signing a midfielder is a priority, while the club could also look to add a defender on a short-term deal.

Moreover, Leeds won’t be willing to pay a hefty fee of £20m for Traore who is yet to score or provide an assist this season.

Put it simply, he is not required at Elland Road.
