Leeds United: Tyler Adams appears after ‘terrible’ injury news at Elland Road

Beren Cross has shared that Leeds United star Tyler Adams was spotted for the first time in a month when stepping onto the pitch after the 2-1 win against Nottingham Forest.

The crucial victory means the Whites now occupy 13th place in the Premier League table but just two points above the danger zone. Next up is another very important test against Crystal Palace with Roy Hodgson’s side sitting just one point ahead in 12th place.

Sunday’s game will be one that Leeds will have to face without the services of Adams, following his recent surgery, but it was great to see the USMNT captain on the Elland Road turf enjoying the moment with his teammates as another three precious points were secured against Forest.

Writing for Leeds Live after the 2-1 win at Elland Road, Cross shared what he spotted at the full-time whistle as fans serenaded their Americans.

“Tyler Adams had not been seen or heard from since the terrible news about his hamstring injury and subsequent surgery last month,” he wrote.

“The American came out onto the field at the full-time whistle to celebrate with his team-mates and the most pleasing aspect was the absence of any crutches.”

Adams took to his Twitter account to provide a very brief but emphatic response to the win on Monday night.

Pictured in a chunky oversized jumper, the sight of the 24-year old walking unaided, as stated by Cross was very pleasing. It indicates a positive team spirit within the dressing room that he wanted to be seen and surrounded by his teammates as they took the acclaim from the fans.

Following the tough shift at the Emirates Stadium against the league leaders, this was exactly the response required from Javi Gracia’s men. The Spanish coach is doing fine just now and the momentum created last night will push on toward the weekend and another home fixture. These are the games that really matter and by beating the other teams in and around the bottom half of the table, Gracia is showing the way for Leeds to secure Premier League survival.

In other Leeds United news, a teenager now looks closer than ever to his debut after what he did at Thorp Arch during the international break with Javi Gracia taking note.
