Leeds United twist as two unnamed managers may now get interviews

Leeds United may still have one or two unnamed manager interviews to complete this week as their hunt nears its end, according to Graham Smyth.

The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist has named Patrick Viera, Daniel Farke and Scott Parker, although there could be two more names in contention.

The Whites were said to have interviewed over the past couple of days, although they may not be done there ahead of a potential weekend appointment.

Speaking on the latest episode of the Inside Elland Road podcast for the Yorkshire Evening Post, Smyth shared the latest news coming from the club.

“You can probably use the word several in the frame,” he said.

“We haven’t been able to bottom-mark how many they have exactly interviewed, but I know that they were interviewing yesterday, I know they still had one today and there was a possibility of another one or two, so they’re not at the end of the interview process,” Smyth said.

Decisions.

This would indicate that a decision is yet to be made with interviews still in the firing line, Leeds fans will have to wait for the anticipated appointment of their new head boss.

But with pre-season looming over, United will have no time to waste in hitting the ground running under their new manager in a bid for an immediate return to the Premier League.

Farke has won the league twice with Norwich City and is certainly the most favoured for his Championship experience but with Viera’s playing career history he could be a good move too.

Viera commands respect in the dressing rooms and his previously managed teams have expressed attacking identity, two things United lacked in the latter part of last season. His only downfall is that he is not a Championship promotion expert but with time given and fit players, he could change this.

All eyes are firmly fixed on Elland Road now, with the hope that a quick appointment will be made following these latest interviews.

In other Leeds United news, a BBC pundit has been left stunned as Phil Hay has dropped a fresh update on who the Whites are considering bringing in as manager this summer.
