Adam Pope has shared that Max Wober is "back in full training" ahead of the Championship clash between Leeds United and Plymouth Argyle at Elland Road on Saturday (2 November).

The Austria international has been sidelined for over a month after he was forced to have surgery on his knee after an injury he sustained earlier in the season.

Reporting via his personal X account (31 October), journalist Pope also shared an update on the availability of Joe Gelhardt, Patrick Bamford and Dan James for Leeds' game against the Pilgrims.

"Wober back in full training. Gelhardt (hip) Bamford (adductor) and James (hamstring) are doubts to face Plymouth and will have late fitness tests," he wrote.

Leeds United will be happy to welcome Max Wober back

Leeds' defensive line has been left somewhat light in recent weeks thanks to the injuries sustained by Ethan Ampadu and Wober.

The duo were supposed to be Leeds' backup centre-backs this season and allow Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk to have a rest here and there but instead, the burden has been thrown upon the formidable duo to solely hold the fort down.

Indeed, the Whites did welcome Josuha Guilavogui to Elland Road to provide cover for defensive midfield and centre-back but it's undeniable that the Austrian will likely be a better option for Farke to make use of.

While Guilavogui may have shown his experience and composure on the ball in training, the fact that Wober has returned to Leeds' first team will be music to most fans' ears.

Leeds' promotion charge is well and truly underway and seen as though the club are just five points adrift of the league leaders, Sunderland, Wober's reintegration into the squad could be exactly what Daniel Farke needs to help boost the Whites' promotion hopes.
