Leeds United transfer update as ‘visibly frustrated’ Willy Gnonto could be available at ‘cut price’ deal

Leeds United star Willy Gnonto is “visibly frustrated” amid a lack of game time at Elland Road, with the winger “available at a cut price” if the Whites are relegated, according to LiveScore.

Gnonto has hit the ground running immediately since his summer move from FC Zurich, with the 19-year-old scoring two goals and registering three assists from his 16 Premier League matches.

His form has reportedly caught the eye of various high-profile clubs, with Gnonto reportedly disappointing at a lack of regular playing time at Leeds.

“Wilfried Gnonto is already an established Italian international and drawing interest from several clubs ahead of the summer transfer window,” according to LiveScore.

“The 19-year-old has been an exciting prospect for Leeds this season but reduced time on the pitch has left the forward visibly frustrated.

LiveScore added: “Several Serie A clubs are said to be monitoring Gnonto’s progress in the Premier League and the speedster could be available at a cut price if Leeds are relegated.”

Potential exit

The exciting Leeds and Italy youngster may not exactly be visibly frustrated, but he could certainly go on the cheap this summer, at least compared to what the club could receive for his sale if they were to be in a more commanding situation.

The Whites are currently sitting in the Premier League relegation zone, with the club winning just six of their 28 matches this season.

They are just three points off rock bottom, but on a more positive note need just a point to climb out of the bottom three.

Premier League safety would provide a long, long list of benefits to Leeds, but it remains to be seen whether it would be enough to convince Gnonto to stay.

The teenager will undoubtedly receive plenty of offers this summer, such has been his excitement when handed the ball by his teammates.

But his starting opportunities have been limited under Javi Gracia, with a number of clubs across Europe perhaps using the incentive of a regular starting role to try and persuade Gnonto to leave Elland Road.

In other Leeds United news, defender Diego Llorente has admitted that he “immediately said yes” when Roma contacted him about a transfer in January.
