Leeds United transfer policy change mooted under Daniel Farke
Leeds United are now targeting players who can have an immediate impact in the club’s search for promotion, according to Leeds Live journalist Beren Cross.
That policy is in contrast to the previous policy of signing players who represent a strong resale value and have future potential, Cross noted.
New manager Daniel Farke has brought four new players to Elland Road so far; Karl Darlow, Sam Byram, Joe Rodon and Ethan Ampadu.

“The priority in any of the new players arriving is the ability to make an immediate impact in this promotion push,” Cross wrote for Leeds Live.
“Resale value and potential have been considered imperative in the past, but this time it’s all about ready-made Championship difference-makers, whether they arrive permanently or on loan. Rodon is a good example.
“He represents the calibre of players Leeds should need to get promoted, but buying him would have cost £15million and that is not a realistic sum for many second-tier sides to spend on any player.
“A loan, in that instance, got Leeds the quality of player they needed without decimating their profit and sustainability position.”

Difficult summer
Farke has had a difficult summer at Elland Road, with the manager forced to watch on as several of the club’s key players left for pastures now.
The likes of Robin Koch, Max Wober, Brenden Aaronson, Rodrigo, Jack Harrison and Marc Roca have all exited in recent months. And they could yet be followed by players such as Wilfried Gnonto, Tyler Adams and Luis Sinisterra.
It’s been a mass exodus at Elland Road since the club’s relegation from the Premier League in May, a scenario that was perhaps expected given how many Whites players would have valued themselves as better than the Championship.
Farke has, however, eased these woes by bringing four talented players to the club this summer. They will all undoubtedly play key roles over the coming months as the West Yorkshire outfit seek promotion back to the Premier League.
The Whites are yet to win from their opening two Championship matches, drawing 2-2 with Cardiff City and losing 1-0 to Birmingham City.
In other Leeds United news, a Sky Sports pundit has delivered a “scandalous” verdict on an exit-linked Whites player.
