Leeds United transfer news: Tyler Adams exit verdict emerges after Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest interest
Leeds United “certainly” have a chance of keeping Tyler Adams through the end of the transfer window, and could yet do the same with Willy Gnonto, says Ryan Taylor.
The pair are key parts of the Whites squad and have both been linked with departures this summer, with Everton at the front of the queue for Italian attacker Gnonto and thought to have had a £15million bid rejected, while Aston Villa are one of many Premier League sides credited with interest in American midfielder Adams.
But with so little time left before the start of the Championship season – Leeds United kick off at home to Cardiff on 6 August – both are now being tipped to stay at Elland Road.

Taylor, a Daily Express journalist told GIVEMESPORT (25 July): “I think there is a chance they stay. Certainly Adams and although there’s been interest from the likes of Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest, there hasn’t really been anything too concrete.
“Obviously, the Championship season isn’t too far away now, I think it’s just under two weeks away. So ultimately, I think they are part of the plans at the moment.”
Boost
Max Wober’s sudden switch from apparent building block for the promotion push to imminent departure to Borussia Monchengladbach shows that plenty can still change before the window shuts.
But, with Gnonto at least not having a release clause in his contract, and Adams injured for up to six weeks yet, they do appear to be two for whom the danger may have subsided.
The 49ers want the key pair, along with fellow stars Jack Harrison and Luis Sinisterra, to be part of Daniel Farke’s squad in the second tier, and the German would surely want that as well.

His reveal at the weekend that both Adams, 24, and Harrison, 26, are likely to be out injured past the close of the transfer window to the first international break, may have ended the threat of them leaving at least until January.
But if he could keep hold of Gnonto as well in the face of what appears to be concerted interest from Everton it would be a significant boost.
The defence is starting to look very sparse if Wober is gone, but if Adams stays and can be coupled with new arrival Ethan Ampadu that would be a solid partnership in a central midfield that has lost all other senior bodies.
The Whites are currently in line to have an embarrassment of riches in wide attacking positions, but they will need to sign a striker if they are to avoid the old problem of pinning all their hopes on Patrick Bamford’s availability up front.
The end of the window is on a knife-edge currently, and two or three players one way or another could make all the difference very quickly, so the more confidence there is around important men staying the better.
In other Leeds United news, the 49ers have already embarked on a £200million investment plan that should have extensive long-term benefits.
