Leeds United transfer news: Talks today to seal Weston McKennie deal
Fabrizio Romano has shared that Leeds United transfer talks with Juventus over a loan-to-buy deal for Weston McKennie are now progressing well.
The transfer guru highlighted that there have been positive contacts made in the last few hours, something which bodes well for a deal to be completed soon.
Adding fuel to the fire, Romano added that there will be a new round of talks between Juve and Leeds United today on 28 January to get the deal sealed.
“Understand there’s optimism now for Weston McKennie to join Leeds,” said Romano on Twitter. (28 January, 1:13 AM)
“Talks are progressing well on loan with buy clause — positive contacts in the last hours.
“New round of talks will take place on Saturday to get the deal sealed.”

Here we go!
Okay maybe now Leeds United fans can start to get excited over this deal happening, it’s been almost a certainty for days but a confirmation of that from Romano himself is always nice.
The loan-to-buy deal is an interesting one to say the least, especially if the Whites hand McKennie a contract until 2027 as has been reported.
Jesse Marsch is slowly but surely building an American arsenal within his Leeds United ranks and McKennie could fit perfectly into the Whites engine room.
Marsch will be hoping his compatriot can strike up a formidable midfield partnership with Tyler Adams, something the duo displayed at the FIFA World Cup.
Whilst some may question this move for McKennie, personally, it seems like a real statement of intent from the Leeds United hierarchy and one that should be commended if it does indeed get over the line.
McKennie has all the attributes to be a real player in the Premier League landscape and his vast European experience should be welcomed with open arms in West Yorkshire.
