Leeds United transfer news shared by Fabrizio Romano on Weston McKennie & Azzedine Ounahi

Fabrizio Romano has shared that Leeds United are exploring potential moves for Weston McKennie and Azzedine Ounahi after having made a bid for the latter weeks ago.

Gianluca Di Marzio revealed on 24 January that Leeds United had made contact with Juventus for McKennie, something which transfer guru Romano appeared to confirm.

The double midfield transfer news will be music to the ears of the Elland Road faithful, with many fans thinking the club’s transfer business was all but done.

“Leeds are exploring new options for the midfield including Weston McKennie. It’s one of the possibilities considered by the club as Matte Moretto has reported,” said Romano on Twitter. (January 24, 9:19 AM)

“The list still includes Azzedine Ounahi after opening bid made weeks ago.”

Here we go?

The Italian transfer guru Romano will only ever report on some juicy transfer gossip if the links and rumours are legitimate, so this bodes well for any Leeds United moves.

And there is certainly a Klich void in this current Leeds United squad that could do with getting filled and either of the maestros above would do that job nicely.

McKennie may be the Whites’ best bet here though, he’d come to the Premier League with a decent past already having played in numerous UEFA Champions League games for Juventus.

He’d also fit into the American narrative at the club too and this means he could arguably settle into life in West Yorkshire far more easily than Ounahi.

Nevertheless, it is surprising to hear that Victor Orta and co are still pursuing more moves in the transfer window, considering they have already made two pretty big signings.

With deadline day only a week away, Leeds United’s hunt for a midfield maestro may be the juiciest story of the transfer window to date.

This one is worth keeping an eye on.
