Leeds United transfer news: San Francisco 49ers moves detailed to keep Tyler Adams, Willy Gnonto and Max Wober at Elland Road
San Francisco 49ers are mooted to make a “big play” in order to keep the coveted Tyler Adams at Leeds United beyond this summer.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Graham Smyth, they are expected to do the same with Willy Gnonto as well.
The Leeds duo are likely to have plenty of suitors in the coming weeks post Leeds’ relegation to the Championship.

Smyth wrote on 14 June, “It’s possible [49ers use their financial clout]. Probably more possible in the case of Willy Gnonto than in the case of Tyler Adams. One is more established than the other, although no less coveted. Both will have offers elsewhere and that will test Leeds’ mettle.
“I expect 49ers Enterprises to make a big play to try and keep both men and probably Max Wober too. It’s not really in their power to stop them if something too good-to-be-true comes along, though.
“I would argue the most important thing is to determine the wishes of both players nice and early. What you don’t want is to build a summer recruitment plan around them and then suddenly face losing them late in the window.”
Interesting
Leeds know that they’re going to face a tough task convincing many players to stay on for next season in the Championship.
A number of players they signed over the past three seasons were at established top flight clubs overseas and they ended up leaving to join the Whites.
To convince them to stay another year in the Championship will be difficult, particularly if there’s interest in their services.

Adams and Gnonto are likely to have the most suitors and there’s a good chance that Illan Meslier, Pascal Struijk and even Luis Sinisterra leave.
However, here’s where the real test of the ownership comes into play and they need to put their eggs on two or three players and get them to stay.
They may tempt them with pay rises and could even sign gentleman’s agreements which will allow them to leave next summer if Leeds do not get promoted.
In other Leeds United news, a BBC pundit has been left stunned as Phil Hay has dropped a fresh update on who the Whites are considering bringing in as manager this summer.
