Leeds United transfer news: Quick agreement reached at Eintracht Frankfurt over Robin Koch pursuit

Frankfurt manager Dino Toppmoller and sporting director Markus Krosche are reportedly in agreement over signing Leeds United defender Robin Koch.

According to Sport BILD [28 June, Page 26], the duo “quickly agreed” that signing a right-footed centre-back was a priority with the German emerging as the “top candidate” for them.

It’s understood that the 26-year-old is available on loan this summer as the Whites got relegated to the Championship.

Waste of money?

Koch is another defender that’s failed to live up to the billing at Elland Road and is now likely to establish his career away from Leeds.

The Whites signed the German from Freiburg for £13million in 2020, per the Daily Mail, and has certainly not justified that outlay.

He made a name for himself in the Bundesliga and Marcelo Bielsa would’ve expected him to kick but under four managers, he’s shown that he perhaps is not ready for the English game.

If there’s a possibility, Leeds should look to consider selling him as that will generate a transfer fee for the 26-year-old.

He too, will welcome the permanent return to his home country where he’ll look to rekindle his form and make it back into the Germany side.

It remains to be seen whether or not the Whites will look to sanction his permanent exit this summer.

In other Leeds United news, the club have been handed a boost to sign a Manchester United player this summer with Erik ten Hag likely to sanction his exit.
