Leeds United transfer news: Newcastle and Brighton target Tyler Adams wants Premier League stay amid new Victor Orta interest
Bundesliga clubs may have interest in exit-bound Leeds United pair Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson but will find it “extremely difficult” to compete with Premier League money, says Tom Bogert.
Both are expected to leave Elland Road following relegation [90min, 30 May], and there is reportedly extensive interest in Adams from the likes of Brighton, Everton, Aston Villa [Daily Mail, 19 June], and Newcastle [Telegraph, 8 June].
Now former Elland Road sporting director Victor Orta has been tipped to want him in La Liga at new club Sevilla, according to la Colina de Nervion (20 June), but Bogert expects stays in the English top flight to be more likely .

Asked about potential German moves for Americans in England Bogert said in The Athletic: “Sure, Bundesliga teams may be interested, but the finances make any deals for the USMNT quartet to be tricky. It’s extremely difficult to compete with Premier League money.
“It’s Tyler Adams’ preference to remain in the Premier League following Leeds United’s relegation. When Brenden Aaronson transferred to previous club RB Salzburg in January 2021, several Bundesliga teams were interested in acquiring him from the Philadelphia Union. Let’s see where the market starts moving with Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie.
“All four are expected to change clubs this summer, though.”
Race
It isn’t too difficult to see why there is such interest in Adams, and with so many clubs in the English top flight credited with involvement in the race it is hard to imagine anyone outside the very top tier landing him from another league.
Aaronson perhaps has more chance of a move to the Bundesliga after he flattered to deceive for much of his time at Elland Road despite a strong start.
McKennie, for what it’s worth, is probably unlikely to make a quick return to England after a difficult half-season on loan with Leeds United.

With an extensive market for central midfielders this summer, from Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice on down, Adams is sure to find himself a landing spot.
His injury absence late in the season proved to be a major blow to the Whites’ hopes of staying up themselves, and while the club would like to keep him for the second tier [The Athletic, 1 June] that looks like wishful thinking.
But as an international captain, and with so many clubs interested, Leeds should at least be fairly confident of getting a decent fee.
In other Leeds United news, yet another new name appeared in the manager race on Tuesday (20 June).
