Leeds United transfer news: Liverpool target Crysencio Summerville and Crystal Palace ace Michael Olise for Anfield

Liverpool are targeting Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville for a possible summer transfer, according to Football Transfers.

The outlet reported via their website on 6 January that the Whites ace is in the sights of Jurgen Klopp’s side along with Crystal Palace attacker Michael Olise.

It is reportedly unclear whether the Reds would look to buy both the young attackers, but Palace are said to insist on their £60million asking price being met for Olise, who is also of interest to Manchester United.

According to the report neither Summerville or Olise are expected to be in the move in the January window but will come into the equation at the end of the season.

The Whites are currently trying to take a young attacker in the opposite direction as they push to land Fabio Carvalho on loan ahead of Championship rivals [Fabrizio Romano, 6 January].

No shock

Leeds United will be expecting high-profile interest in star men such as Summerville when the campaign is over whatever happens.

They will just be hoping above that their exploits up until then will be enough to propel the club back into the Premier League.

Should the promotion bid fall short then the 22-year-old, as well as the likes of Archie Gray and Georginio Rutter, are all likely to be on the way out.

The Dutchman’s 12 goals and six assists in the league can’t help to have caught the eye of Premier League clubs, with Newcastle among others to have taken notice.

If Daniel Farke is able to lead the Whites back into the top flight then it will strengthen the club’s position when it comes to either keeping hold of star players, or at least demanding higher fees to let them go.

Should it come down to a head-to-head for Liverpool then £60m for Olise might be considered too steep, and Summerville might be seen as a more affordable alternative.

But if he keeps up his current form and the suitors continue to queue up he might be given a similar asking price, and if it leads to promotion then it is possible he might stay anyway.

In other Leeds United news, one name keeps coming up as the club are expected to sign a player at a key position this month.
