Leeds United transfer news: Jose Mourinho wants Rasmus Kristensen by Monday amid new talks on £8.6m loan-to-buy

Jose Mourinho wants Rasmus Kristensen available to him by Monday (10 July) amid new talks with Leeds United in search of “white smoke” on the Dane’s loan exit, Tutto Mercato Web reports.

The full-back is expected to follow Elland Road teammate Diego Llorente to the Stadio Olimpico on a similar loan-to-buy arrangement, after “total agreement” was reached for the Spaniard [Gianluca Di Marzio, 3 July].

Roma are pushing to get the deal closed by the weekend with the former Red Bull Salzburg defender in line to have a €10million [£8.6m] permanent option in his deal.

Tutto Mercato Web‘s Monday (3 July) report shared the next set of talks commencing in the “next hours” as the Portuguese manager looks to get Kristensen in for the start of his preseason training camp, so the final negotiations should already been under way or even concluded.

Time pressure

All teams are now looking to get business tied up as soon as possible after players began returning to their clubs to prepare for the new season.

In theory Leeds United are the same but will be playing catch-up in terms of getting new signings in as they are only just now preparing to announce Daniel Farke as the new manager.

The delay in the sale agreement between the 49ers and Andrea Radrizzani has pushed official EFL ratification of the deal further into the summer, with the wait currently still ongoing.

The Whites wanted to wait to appoint the German until that green light had arrived but have given up on those hopes thanks to their own training commencing this week.

With incoming transfer business next to impossible until the manager is in it will be outgoings that are tied up first, with plenty on the cards following relegation.

The delays in proceedings at Elland Road have likely had a knock-on effect of holding up other clubs signing exit-bound players, but with Farke expected Tuesday (4 July) that should now clear the way for Mourinho to get his men in time for next week.

In other Leeds United news, another first-team loan exit is now on the brink as well after a report from Fabrizio Romano.
