Kinsella tweeted: “Exclusive: Ampadu is en route to Leeds to complete his medical and sign the contract today. £7m fee plus £3m in add-ons, move revealed here yesterday.”

Exciting transfer

Leeds United are now finally making moves in the market with the transfer of Ampadu now seemingly being close to completion and this deal comes at the perfect time for the 49ers Enterprises after the confirmation of their full takeover at Elland Road.

The American consortium are now certainly underway in their attempts to bolster Daniel Farke’s squad ahead of the new season which is just over two weeks away and Ampadu represents the perfect start to their ambitions.

Leeds United

The Welshman never got the opportunities his talents warranted at Chelsea, being shipped out on loan on several occasions since his move to West London from Exeter in 2017, and he could well now enjoy a new permanent lease of life at Leeds United with Daniel Farke the ideal manager for him to rejig his career again.

Ampadu is a player of considerable experience despite his lack of games at Chelsea, becoming a key performer for Wales and even impressing on loan at Serie A side Spezia last season.

The 22-year-old is a fantastic addition given his versatility, tactical understanding and composure on the ball, traits Farke absolutely loves and he could prove a secret ingredient for the German coach in the Championship next season.
