Leeds United transfer news emerges as central defender move on cards in January
Leeds United are looking at a move to potentially sign another central defender for their under-23 side in the upcoming January transfer window, according to Mail Sport.
It’s not the first problem area that would spring to mind for Leeds United but it seems Victor Orta is keen to get plenty of deals over the line.
Mail Sport confessed that Leeds United are eyeing up a move for a young centre-back for their U23s side and also want to sign a left-back and striker, with talks being held.
“Also want a young centre back for their U23s. Cody Drameh is attracting interest,” as quoted by Mail Sport.
With a potential U23 centre-back being lined up this could tie in with the narrative of a Drameh January exit, something that no one wants to see.
You would think that Drameh would be a shoo-in to make Marsch’s starting XI right now or at least be challenging for a spot from the bench.
Nevertheless, for whatever reason, the powerful and athletic defender has possibly become surplus to requirements at Elland Road and will likely leave in January.
It could prove to be a foolish move from Leeds, Drameh looks to have everything it takes to become a top player in the Premier League.
And it hasn’t been short of suitors either, which again shows the quality he possesses, fans of the Whites will just have to hope that Marsch has identified a problem they haven’t seen.
Leeds United have their work cut out for them here, but if Orta can find a suitable replacement then it makes the potential Drameh switch a lot easier on the mind.
