Leeds United transfer news emerges amid quest to sign Brighton and Everton target Fabio Jalo
Leeds United are in a transfer battle with Everton, Brighton and Fulham to sign Barnsley attacker Fabio Jalo, according to TEAMtalk.
The English media outlet reported on 6 November that the EFL League One club may be forced to sell him in the January transfer window.
In the article, he has been labelled a "star" who made headlines recently by scoring a wonder goal.
The report read, "Our sources reveal that along with the Premier League trio, Leeds United and Sunderland are also amongst the sides showing a real interest."
One for the future
Jalo may be talked about highly but he's still only 17 and has some way to go before he can be considered a first-team regular.
Leeds can do with more players in reserve and should they sign the Portuguese youngster, but he'll be an under-21s player for the foreseeable future.
They can sign him in January and loan him back to Barnsley and perhaps that's a deal that could work out for all parties concerned.
However, one can understand why he'd want to move to a Premier League side over one that's currently in the Championship.
Brighton also have a track record of doing wonders with young talents and that may play a huge role in his decision.
His contract expires in the summer so if Barnsley are to get something, they need to cash in over the winter.
