Leeds United transfer news: Diego Llorente exit timeline emerges amid Roma links
Roma reportedly look to be signing Leeds United defender Diego Llorente on a season-long loan this summer after an impressive stint post January.
According to Sky Sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio [7 July], this will be a simple loan with no option or obligation to buy.
The deal is expected to be closed on Friday itself which will then be followed by an announcement as an agreement for a buy option could not be reached.

Bad move
After weeks of negotiations, it seems like neither party was willing to budge and it’s led to this situation where it’s a straight loan.
Leeds know better than to include an option to buy will not work with Roma as they’ve not held their end of the deal in the past.
There was an option to sign him this summer as well but as the Whites got relegated and the Italians were unwilling to pay the pre-determined fee.

Not holding their end of the deal is pretty unprofessional and Leeds should not have been dealing with them in the first place.
Llorente is a full Spain international and clubs there surely would’ve been willing to have him back but now it seems like his fate has been sealed.
12 months later, the centre-back may not have such a market for himself so selling him permanently is going to be all more difficult.
In other Leeds United news, the club have been handed a boost to sign a Manchester United player this summer with Erik ten Hag likely to sanction his exit.
