Leeds United transfer news as wing-back priority detailed
Leeds United are prioritising a deal to sign a wing-back over a new striker this summer, according to Wales Online.
The media outlet [20 July] claimed that while the Whites are looking at Swansea striker Joel Piroe, they want to bring in someone who can play an attacking role from the full-back roles.
It has not been mentioned whether or not Daniel Farke plans on deploying a back three for the upcoming season.

Change of system on the cards?
The fact that they’re looking for a wing-back and not a full-back suggests that the German may have a few tricks up his sleeve for the upcoming season.
It’s evident that they need someone on the left as even if Junior Firpo stays on, he cannot be relied on for the entirety of the season.
His fitness and form are both causes of concern and Pascal Struijk playing there is not quite the same as he does not offer that kind of attacking threat.

It remains to be seen who the Whites are looking at as they’ve already announced their first signing in Ethan Ampadu.
It’s understood that there will be around five or six new signings and hopefully, they’re all moves that strengthen the playing eleven.
All might not happen right away as it hinges on how many players will leave but if Ampadu is being signed as a midfielder then they may need to sign another centre-back as well.
