Leeds United transfer news as Will Brook seals Elland Road exit for Nottingham Forest move

Leeds United young goalkeeper Will Brook has left Elland Road for good in order to join Premier League side Nottingham Forest.

The 19-year-old signed his first professional contract at the club in 2022 and has now put pen to paper on a new deal at Forest.

LUFC Youth, a reputable Twitter account have shared an image of him at his new club while Nottingham Forest have also announced the deal on their website.

Bad move

Brook had only signed his first pro deal at the club last year and it’s clear that there were plans to make him a first-team player.

However, post relegation and the change of owners and managers, the 19-year-old probably felt that it was best for him to leave the club.

His contract was due to expire in June and he did not sign a new one and got himself a move to a side in the top flight where he’ll play for their under-21s.

He was part of the Leeds squad that won promotion to the Premier League 2 Division 1 last season and he surely will be missed.

It’s time for the Whites to look at their youth recruitment now and bring in youngsters that can make a difference and push for a first-team spot sooner rather than later.

It remains to be seen how Brook fares at the City Ground as they’re themselves, not an established Premier League team and roles could be reversed next season.

In other Leeds United news, the club have been handed a boost to sign a Manchester United player this summer with Erik ten Hag likely to sanction his exit.
