Leeds United transfer news as Wilfried Gnonto pushes for Everton switch

Leeds United attacker Wilfried Gnonto is now pushing to join Everton as he looks for a way out of Elland Road, according to the Daily Mail.

The English newspaper reported in its print edition on Wednesday (16 August, page 61) that he continues to train alone, away from the rest of his teammates at Thorp Arch.

Jack Harrison has already moved to Goodison Park this summer and the 19-year-old Italy international wants to follow him out of the door.

Everton have been walking on an FFP tightrope for the past few seasons and money is a major concern there this summer as well.

Leeds are going to demand a decent fee for Gnonto as he does not have a relegation release as some of the other players did.

The Whites failed to cash in on those names as they looked to make the most of those clauses and leave the club on loan.

Gnonto perhaps feels disgruntled at that fact and believes that he should get his way and seal an exit this summer.

Daniel Farke has perhaps asked him to train alone so as to not disrupt the harmony in the first-team squad and that’s understandable.

In case Gnonto does move, there are better clubs that can afford to sign him and the Toffees do not seem to be in a position right now.

They risk losing him for cheap and not his true value if they do end up selling him to Everton.

In other Leeds United news, the club could look to rekindle their interest in a Golden Boot winner who Daniel Farke will love and it will take £15million to get the deal done.
