Leeds United transfer news as update emerges on Max Aarons medical amid Bournemouth hijack

Norwich City defender Max Aarons did not leave his Leeds United medical to seal a last-gasp move to Bournemouth, according to Chris Reeve.

The BBC presenter claimed on Thursday (10 August) that he spoke to the 23-year-old in the last 24 hours and he categorically denies leaving Thorp Arch during his medical.

The Englishman appeared set for a move to Elland Road, but the Premier League made an eleventh-hour approach.

Via Twitter, Reeve wrote, “Having spoken to Max over the last 12 hours, I know how much of a hard decision it was to let down Daniel Farke, who is a father figure to him.

“Some of the reports of him directly walking out of a medical are completely false.

“I know how tough yesterday was for Max, knowing him and his family personally, in terms of letting down someone who has done so much for his career.

“He has confirmed with me he does not mind me putting this info out there.”

Weird one

Aarons gave his word to Leeds and Farke – who’s been a manager under whom he’s played some of his best football under.

The player he is today is a lot to do with the German’s coaching and the efforts he’s put in behind the scenes with him.

Leeds United

One can understand him moving to a Premier League club, but there are no guarantees Bournemouth won’t be in the Championship next season.

At Leeds, he would’ve been one of the first names on the team sheet and Farke could build his entire defence around Aarons.

Along with playing at right-back, the 23-year-old is also capable of being deployed at left-back and he certainly would’ve been a quality signing.

Now, the Whites have to look at other options and need to do so quickly before their other targets also get snapped up.

In other Leeds United news, the club could look to rekindle their interest in a Golden Boot winner who Daniel Farke will love and it will take £15million to get the deal done.
