Leeds United transfer news as Tottenham ace James Maddison plays role amid approach to Leicester defender Luke Thomas
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James Maddison has played a role in the Leeds United pursuit of Leicester City defender Luke Thomas, according to Jason Bourne.
The talkSPORT journalist reported that Maddison recommended Thomas, 22, to Daniel Farke before he left for Spurs this summer.
The duo know each other very well from the Englishman’s time spent at Norwich.
Via Twitter, Bourne wrote, “Luke Thomas is a target for Leeds.
“Had heard last week when sending the original line in that James Maddison recommended Thomas to his old former boss Daniel Farke. They know each other well from their days at Norwich, of course.”
Daily Mail reported on 28 August that the Whites have even made an approach for the Englishman.
Makes sense
Leeds signing Thomas would make a lot of sense and one can understand why Farke will be open to bringing the Englishman to Elland Road.
He is an attack-minded full-back who’s undoubtedly an upgrade on Junior Firpo and Sam Byram and he will give the Whites a better chance to get promoted.

He’s also young and has proven himself in the Premier League so he’s definitely going to put in a shift at Leeds, should he sign.
However, it’ll be baffling if Leicester allow him to leave as the Whites are direct promotion rivals to the Foxes.
The hierarchy at the King Power will be aware that they’ll be strengthening Leeds should they allow this deal to go ahead this summer.
It remains to be seen how this transfer saga transpires but answers are needed on it pretty quickly.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites have now emerged as favourites to sign a Premier League player likened to Lionel Messi.
