Leeds United transfer news as talks continue for Azzedine Ounahi this week
Angers are yet to agree on terms with any club as Leeds United continue talks over a transfer for Azzedine Ounahi, according to 90min.
The online outlet has reported on its website that numerous clubs are in discussions over the midfielder, who was one of the standout performers in the World Cup for Morocco.
Leeds are the latest club to have launched a concrete offer for Ounahi, as they look to add to the signing of Max Wober and the impending arrival of Georginio Rutter.
It may not be straightforward, though.
AC Milan, Napoli and Leicester are all said to be in the race, but the first two may be happier with the next update that Ounahi may prefer a move to Italy.
Angers are also said to want a deal in which the midfielder returns to them on loan until the end of the season if the transfer was completed this month.
Get it done.
Wow, this could already turn into a sensational January for Leeds.
Ounahi was sensational at the World Cup in the run to the semi-finals for Morocco, but it is critical that he keeps it up, especially if he came to the Premier League.
Andrea Radrizzani was a big fan of the Angers star over in Qatar, as Victor Orta revealed, and he could be about to make this transfer window, one of his biggest since turning up at Elland Road.
The Italian may be ready to go out with a bang ahead of the 49ers taking the reins fully, and adding to the midfield would make it a brilliant month.
Wober and Rutter were the critical signings needed, but with Mateusz Klich leaving for DC United, an extra experienced head alongside Marc Roca, Tyler Adams and Adam Forshaw may be needed.
It will be interesting to see if this goes anywhere, with talks continuing, it is one to watch.
