Leeds United transfer news as talks advance for Mateusz Bogusz exit

Leeds United are in advanced talks with MLS side LAFC to sell young midfielder Mateusz Bogusz, according to reliable journalist Tom Bogert.

Earlier reports had insisted that it was LA Galaxy closing in on the Pole, but the MLS insider shared the correct information to his 50,000 followers.

The American side and Leeds have reached an agreement with UD Ibiza to end his current loan spell early for this move which isn’t yet done, but is certainly getting closer.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Bogert shared the latest as the Polish playmaker finally closed in on a permanent exit from Elland Road.

“Sources: LAFC in advanced talks to sign Polish youth int’l midfielder Mateusz Bogusz from Leeds United,” he wrote.

“Not done yet, but getting closer. Bogusz, 21, currently on loan with UD Ibiza, but agreements reached for him to leave early. He has 6g/7a in 46 apps on loan in Ibiza.”

When quizzed on other reports, he insisted that they must have gotten LAFC mixed up with LA Galaxy.

Time to go.

There comes a time in every player’s career that he simply has to take the hint and leave the club they are at.

Bogusz got little sniffs of action under Marcelo Bielsa during his time at the club in the Carabao Cup, but that is as good as it got for the Polish sensation.

The playmaker has struggled with injuries throughout his young career, and despite being capable of the odd wonder strike here and there, he has not put it together enough to break through in West Yorkshire.

This was by no means a poor piece of business by Victor Orta, who snapped Bogusz up early in his career, but now is the right time for him to move across to America.

It also continues the links between the US and Elland Road, with the 49ers Enterprises no doubt having some sort of say on these types of deals ahead of their expected takeover.

Remember, if you want to keep track of Bogusz and his career moving forward, it is LAFC, not Galaxy.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites may have yet another injury concern going into the international break as player has trouble with his left ankle after the Wolves win.
