Leeds United transfer news as takeover will come before ‘major’ moves at Elland Road
The announcement of the 49ers Enterprises’ full takeover at Leeds United is expected to go through before the club starts making “major” moves in the market, according to journalist Graham Smyth.
The American consortium have been desperately waiting for EFL approval which has slowed down their summer progress starting by announcing their position as full owners at Elland Road.
With Daniel Farke now confirmed as Leeds United boss on a four-year deal on Tuesday (4 July), as confirmed by the official website, the Whites are expected to push ahead with their summer recruitment plans.

Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Smyth [6 July, 14m:00], speaking on the Inside Elland Road podcast, expects the takeover announcement to go through before Leeds kick off their transfer moves.
He said: “I wouldn’t expect too much in the way of incoming transfers until they’ve cleared the decks of those who don’t want to be here, those they don’t want to keep, those that they can’t keep.
“And also, I imagine the takeover is gonna go through before they start making major incoming moves and signing off on big expenditure whether that be wages or transfer fees.”
EFL taking too long
Leeds United and the 49ers desperately face a race against time to get their squad intact for the new season with Farke now announced as manager and their pre-season preparations already underway.
The takeover snag with the EFL has certainly slowed down matters and it is really not promising news with the 49ers desperate to make a swift impact under their new regime and that desperation is made all the more crucial with Leeds United wanting a swit Premier League return by the end of the new campaign.

This EFL wait is frustrating for the club and the whole fanbase as the Whites have so much work to do in order to hand Farke the resources he needs to work his magic at Elland Road.
With so many of the club’s key stars set to depart in the coming weeks, the most telling and challenging aspect will be identifying potential replacements and lining up deals to secure those targets.
The Championship campaign kicks off in under five weeks’ time and the way things are moving right now, it’s unclear to see whether Farke will have the squad he desperately needs to make a swift impact. What’s taking the EFL so long? Get a move on!
In other Leeds United news, the club have been handed a boost to sign a Manchester United player this summer with Erik ten Hag likely to sanction his exit.
