Leeds United transfer news as several clubs make contact to sign Sonny Perkins
Leeds United and Sonny Perkins’ representatives have fielded several enquiries this summer over a possible loan deal, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The Leeds-based media outlet reported on Friday (25 August) that clubs wanted to offer him a temporary move this season in order to hand him game time.
The interest in him is said to be “considerable” and despite coming off the bench on the opening weekend, a loan exit appears to be on the cards.

Right move
If Leeds are signing another striker after Piroe then it makes all the sense in the world to allow Perkins to leave on loan.
He’s already behind Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt in the pecking order at Elland Road and with Piroe and the new striker, he’ll be fifth at the very least.
For someone at 19, that’s not a promising sign and his development will be halted if he does not play regular senior minutes.

Moving to League One or League Two could be ideal for him to garner that experience that will put him in good stead for the coming years.
He was highly rated at West Ham and surely the coaches at Thorp Arch regard him as well but they know a move is important at this stage in his career.
Hopefully, he benefits from that and comes back next summer a better player who’s ready to challenge for a first-team role.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites have now emerged as favourites to sign a Premier League player likened to Lionel Messi.
