Leeds United transfer news as Rodrigo talks with Sevilla break down
Leeds United striker Rodrigo appears set to leave the club this summer but a move to Sevilla has reportedly been ruled out by him.
According to COPE journalist Javier Bautista, Sevilla cannot pay what he wants and thus a transfer back to Spain has now been called off.
A move to the Middle East appears likely as clubs in Qatar and the Emirates are keen on signing the Spain international this summer.
Bautista said, “The negotiations between Rodrigo Moreno and him and Sevilla who cannot assume his demands at this time, have broken down.
“He rules out playing in Spain, since he has offers from several teams from Qatar and the Emirates.”
Big money deal?
ElDesmarque reported that Rodrigo was in advanced talks with Sevilla but now that appears to be done and dusted.
A move to the Middle East seems tempting to the 32-year-old and it seems like money is the priority as he looks at his next club.
This could be the chance for Leeds to be smart and demand a higher fee from him as the clubs in the Middle East are backed by the government.

This means that they will be able to pay over the odds as it will help grow the quality of the leagues there and Leeds can make a decent windfall.
They’d rather keep the Spaniard but he does not seem willing to stay in the second tier so he very well could have played his final game for the club.
It remains to be seen where he ends up but a move to the Middle East seems to be getting more likely with each passing day.
In other Leeds United news, the club have been handed a boost to sign a Manchester United player this summer with Erik ten Hag likely to sanction his exit.
