Leeds United transfer news as Phil Hay responds to speculation on Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara
Phil Hay admits that Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara is an option but Leeds United are still looking at other prospects ahead of the transfer deadline.
The Athletic journalist claims that the fee to sign the 27-year-old Finland international is something the Whites can easily afford.
He also believes that he will strengthen the playing eleven as Leeds aim to get promoted at the first time of asking.
Hay told the Square Ball at 31:14, “Kamara’s obviously been linked for a long time. The thing that interests me with Kamara or sort of makes me wonder is that he’s been up for grabs.
“There’s no question that he’s leaving Rangers. The fee’s pretty affordable and he’s a good quality player who would be a good addition to the squad.
“The fact that they haven’t just got Kamara nailed down I don’t think says that they don’t genuinely like him as they really do but it feels as if they’re keeping their options open and feels like there are others out there.”
Too much time
Kamara has been linked with a move to Elland Road all summer but the transfer has not come to fruition yet.
Everything seems to be in place to sign the Finland international so it’s all on the Whites and their quest to sign new midfielders.
With less than 48 hours left before the window shuts, Leeds’ recruitment team surely will be working on overdrive in order to sign new players.

If Ilia Gurev is signed and another midfielder comes through the door, they may decide to pull the plug on the Kamara deal.
However, Rangers’ official partner have claimed that a fee agreement has been reached between the two clubs so the feeling is that this deal goes through.
Hopefully, they also bring in a left-back along with two central midfielders and it’ll then be a fruitful summer for them.
In other Leeds United news, agents and personal terms update has emerged as the Whites have agreed a fee for another new signing.
